The lake is a large basin on the surface of the earth that flooded by fresh water or salt. The lake has a lot of benefits that can be used for an irrigation, paddy irrigation, livestock, gardens, and can be used as an object of tourism that smells of nature, but it also can be used as a hydroelectric power or hydropower. Each lake has a distinctive beauty and different depth. If we go to the lake definitely, we want to visit it again because it can make our mind becomes cool and fresh like the atmosphere of its beauty. Here is the deepest lake in the world :


1. Lake Baikal

Lake Baikal is also known as the blue eye of Siberia, located in southern Siberia near the borders of Russia, Mongolia. Renowned as the world’s deepest lake with a maximum depth of 1642 meters (5369 ft). Lake Baikal is one of the largest lakes with a large eco-system in which more than 1,700 species of flora and fauna that live in this lake, two-thirds of them will only be found here. Around the lake there are steep mountains and dense forests, the lake has an estimated age of 25-30 million years, making it as one of the most ancient lakes in geological history.






2. Lake Tanganyika

Lake Tanganyika is the second largest freshwater lake and the deepest in the world, it is also the longest lake in the world. It is located among four countries – Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Tanzania and Zambia, with the DRC (45%) and Tanzania (41%). The maximum depth of the lake is 1470 meters (4823 ft).






3. Caspian Sea

Caspian Lake is located between the south of the Russian Federation and northern Iran, it is located in the area shrouded with the biggest water on Earth. The water on this lake is endorheic salt (salinity of approximately 1.2%) contained on the mainland. This lake is one of the three deepest lakes in the world, the depth is 1025 meters (3363 ft).

Fauna of this lake is enormous that a large number of sturgeon (the main source of caviar), a variety of rare species of salmon can only be found in this lake. In addition, there are many energy resources such as oil and gas deposits, which have been processed since the 10th century. Currently, the oil in this lake is estimated to be worth $ 12,000,000,000,000.




4. Lake Vostok (Antarctica)

Lake Vostok is one of the largest and deepest lake in the world, with a maximum depth of 1000 meters (2950 ft). Under the Russian Vostok Station, 13,000 feet below the surface of the central Antarctic ice sheet, the lake is probably the purest lakes on Earth. The Average temperature is -3 ° C and this is the reason why the lake is still liquid below the freezing point is the influence of high pressure from the weight of ice on it. The scientists also found that the ice core probably was 420,000 years old, which means that the lake is covered for more than 500,000 years.



5. Lake O’Higgins and San Martín

Lake O’Higgins located in Chile and San Martín is in Argentina, both located in Patagonia, between regions of Aysen and provinces of Santa Cruz. Its surface area is 1058 km ² at 250 meters above sea level, and has a long coastline of 525 km. It is the deepest lake in the United States with a maximum depth of 836 meters near O’Higgins Glacier and the characteristic is the blue color of milk on the lake is deriving from the rocks that are suspended in water. O’Higgins Glacier flows eastward toward the lake, as well as glaciers Chico.
